INFORMATIVE DAYS FOR FOREIGNERS
Since the Foreigners Department opened its doors in 1985, there was a great need to inform its foreign population about the procedures of the Spanish system. Since then the Department organizes informative talks several times a year in various languages.
The subjects are chosen according to regular studies carried out by the Foreign Resident Department through the daily visits of foreigners to their office. It is here where one can see the concerns and requests for information that the foreigner really need. When there are important changes in the laws or procedures that affect foreigners, experts are sought to give talks on these subjects, in different languages
The Department also organises talks on cultural subjects, traditions and on history of Mijas and Spain. Renowned historians such as, Ian Gibson have given talks in Mijas
Given the large number of British, Germans and Scandinavians residing in our municipality, the talks are usually given in English as a common language for all different nationalities.
